The ANC3 uses patented technology that detects external environmental noise through miniature microphones which are incorporated into each ear bud, and then creates an equal but opposite noise signal which is added to the music signal and so cancels out up to 85% of the external noise.

The ANC3 in-ear headphones are perfect for use on airplanes and trains, or whilst exercising or anywhere you want to listen to music — and just the music. Offering total comfort and convenience, the ANC3 comes with three sizes of ear tips (small, medium and large) to give a totally customised fit in the ear canal. The ANC3 includes a compact control unit with a monitor switch that mutes all functions, to let users hear important outside announcements and conversations. These headphones also operate normally in a passive mode when the noise-cancelling function is off so they can be used without batteries.

The ANC3 is supplied in a hard, durable carrying case, with an adjustable cable and an additional extension cable; a clothing clip; an AAA battery and with an airline adapter which can connect to in-flight entertainment systems.
